# Carefree

Carefree sets two colors loose side by side: a chalky pale white on the left and a vivid neon orange on the right. Both fall in long, uneven fingers, some stopping short, others running almost to the edge, each ending in a plump rounded drop. Behind them a sprayed ground shifts from mustard to lime to deep green and back to tangerine, glowing like a late summer afternoon. The white has a fine, cracked matte skin, while the orange stays smooth and bright.

Colangelo poured both colors along the top of the panel and simply let them run, stepping back while gravity decided the length of every drip. That hands-off moment sits at the heart of her practice, where pouring, spraying and layering are allowed to unfold rather than be steered. A small CASCADE piece with a cheerful presence, it brings a lift of color to a shelf, a desk or a gallery wall grouping. It looks fresh above a light oak cabinet in a home office, or on a walnut chest in a warm peach entryway.

### About The Artist Content

Mandie Colangelo is an abstract painter based in Monterey, California. Raised in Arizona, she painted from childhood and wrote music, then built a creative career that moved through fashion, design, jewelry, graphic design and photography. Each chapter sharpened her eye for color, form and material. A season of profound change brought her back to the brush, and painting is now her primary practice.

Working in the abstract expressionist tradition, she builds her surfaces from acrylic, resin, street inks, pigment powders, fabric and, most distinctively, plastic, and treats each painting as an open experiment. Her paintings move between celebration and loss, memory and renewal. As she puts it: "More than anything, I hope my artwork inspires hope, joy, and reflection in those who experience it."
