# Carry Me I

Carry Me I sends a current of color slanting down a tall white canvas. Parallel streams of cobalt, turquoise, lemon yellow, tangerine and red run side by side like lanes of a river, starting from a panel of natural wood grain in the upper corner and spilling onto a second wood panel at the lower right. Where the streams meet the wood they swirl into marbled pools of aqua, chartreuse and scarlet, and the white ground on either side stays bright and open, giving the color room to travel.

Colangelo poured each stream in a single direction and let the paint find its own edges, so the lines swell, narrow and fray, and the cobalt breaks into fine bubbled lace along one side. Setting the pours between raw wood and clean canvas adds warmth and a sense of structure to all that movement. From her RIVERS series, it brings vertical energy to an entry hall above a walnut bench with a blue cushion, or a light oak record console in a pale blue lounge.

### About The Artist Content

Mandie Colangelo is an abstract painter based in Monterey, California. Raised in Arizona, she painted from childhood and wrote music, then built a creative career that moved through fashion, design, jewelry, graphic design and photography. Each chapter sharpened her eye for color, form and material. A season of profound change brought her back to the brush, and painting is now her primary practice.

Working in the abstract expressionist tradition, she builds her surfaces from acrylic, resin, street inks, pigment powders, fabric and, most distinctively, plastic, and treats each painting as an open experiment. Her paintings move between celebration and loss, memory and renewal. As she puts it: "More than anything, I hope my artwork inspires hope, joy, and reflection in those who experience it."
