# Contentment

Contentment settles into soft blocks of color that seem to drift rather than sit. Dusty blue and deep navy gather at the upper left, teal and violet rest below, and a rosy lavender spreads along the bottom edge. To the right, a broad field of yellow rises toward a pale peach sun, its circle so faint it almost dissolves. Small bright notes break the hush: glossy gold squiggles at the center right, thin dark lines and drips at the upper left, and a delicate sunburst scratched into the magenta corner.

Colangelo sprayed and poured the color without a fixed plan, letting each layer suggest the next, so the edges keep a fine, velvety grain where the spray thinned out. The raised gold and the scratched lines give the eye small places to rest, while the wide fields around them stay calm. Among her BLOOM paintings, this one carries the quiet ease of an afternoon with nowhere to be. It suits a pale oak dresser in a bedroom or a walnut credenza in a lavender study, where blush velvet, teal upholstery and a soft yellow rug repeat its palette.

### About The Artist Content

Mandie Colangelo is an abstract painter based in Monterey, California. Raised in Arizona, she painted from childhood and wrote music, then built a creative career that moved through fashion, design, jewelry, graphic design and photography. Each chapter sharpened her eye for color, form and material. A season of profound change brought her back to the brush, and painting is now her primary practice.

Working in the abstract expressionist tradition, she builds her surfaces from acrylic, resin, street inks, pigment powders, fabric and, most distinctively, plastic, and treats each painting as an open experiment. Her paintings move between celebration and loss, memory and renewal. As she puts it: "More than anything, I hope my artwork inspires hope, joy, and reflection in those who experience it."
