# Droit fil sans couture

Straight thread without a seam. The title belongs to the language of sewing and fabric, and the painting takes that metaphor seriously: layers assembled without visible joins, elements brought together so they cohere without calling attention to the effort of their coherence. Corcelle's collage practice is fundamentally about this, the art of combining fragments until the seams disappear and only the whole remains.

Teal, blush, and warm neutral tones move through the composition in a way that feels inevitable, as though no other arrangement could have worked. That sense of rightness is something she works toward through layers and adjustments until the painting tells her it is finished.
