# Electric Joy

Electric Joy arrives at full volume. Hot pink flares along the top and left edges and deepens into violet, then opens into a pool of clear lagoon blue. Floating in the middle is a small green island crowned by a stacked shape like a tiny lookout, and beneath it a wedge of lemon yellow glows like sunlit sand. Lower still, peach spreads into tangerine and coral, branching into fine veins that read like rivers seen from the air, while a few flecks of gold drift across the blue.

One of her COSMOS paintings, it was poured and then allowed to move, the colors pushing into one another until cells and tiny bubbles rose to the surface on their own. "Each piece is created with a sense of freedom," Colangelo says, and here that freedom comes through as pure delight, glossy and bright from edge to edge. Compact and square, it works beautifully on a desk wall or within a gallery wall grouping, above a walnut record console beside a teal armchair or a light oak desk against warm peach walls.

### About The Artist Content

Mandie Colangelo is an abstract painter based in Monterey, California. Raised in Arizona, she painted from childhood and wrote music, then built a creative career that moved through fashion, design, jewelry, graphic design and photography. Each chapter sharpened her eye for color, form and material. A season of profound change brought her back to the brush, and painting is now her primary practice.

Working in the abstract expressionist tradition, she builds her surfaces from acrylic, resin, street inks, pigment powders, fabric and, most distinctively, plastic, and treats each painting as an open experiment. Her paintings move between celebration and loss, memory and renewal. As she puts it: "More than anything, I hope my artwork inspires hope, joy, and reflection in those who experience it."
