# Euphoria

Euphoria moves like a crowd surging forward. Thick, swept strokes of teal and cobalt rush from left to right, catching ribbons of golden yellow, crimson, violet and bright white as they go, with flashes of orange and pink near the crest. Above the rush, a froth of tiny pearly beads spreads across the top in blush, cream and pale green, like spray thrown into the air. Every stroke is glossy and full, so the whole surface seems to shimmer as the light shifts.

Colangelo laid the color on wet and heavy, dragging each stroke so the hues fold into one another without turning muddy, then built up the beaded texture along the upper edge until it sat proud of the surface. From her FORCE series, the painting packs a burst of pure energy into a small format. It lifts the mood above a walnut writing desk with a brass lamp, or on a bedside wall in a soft lavender bedroom, where a candle's glow brings out its warmth.

### About The Artist Content

Mandie Colangelo is an abstract painter based in Monterey, California. Raised in Arizona, she painted from childhood and wrote music, then built a creative career that moved through fashion, design, jewelry, graphic design and photography. Each chapter sharpened her eye for color, form and material. A season of profound change brought her back to the brush, and painting is now her primary practice.

Working in the abstract expressionist tradition, she builds her surfaces from acrylic, resin, street inks, pigment powders, fabric and, most distinctively, plastic, and treats each painting as an open experiment. Her paintings move between celebration and loss, memory and renewal. As she puts it: "More than anything, I hope my artwork inspires hope, joy, and reflection in those who experience it."
