# Far Apart

Far Apart stretches a wide, pebbled form of teal and emerald across a pale gray ground, angled from the lower left corner toward the upper right. At each end the color deepens to an inky navy, almost black, and those two dark clusters face each other across everything in between. Bright threads of neon yellow flicker through the glossy surface like signals sent over a distance, and tiny droplets scatter beyond the edges like spray.

Colangelo poured and flung the paint, then let it spread and splash until the shape found its own balance, leaving a surface full of small craters, ridges and cells. From the TERRAIN series, it speaks quietly of connection held across a gap. Its compact horizontal format sits well above a dark walnut desk in a home office, or over an oak sideboard in a sunlit living room, where teal leather, brass and a chartreuse glass vase draw out its glow.

### About The Artist Content

Mandie Colangelo is an abstract painter based in Monterey, California. Raised in Arizona, she painted from childhood and wrote music, then built a creative career that moved through fashion, design, jewelry, graphic design and photography. Each chapter sharpened her eye for color, form and material. A season of profound change brought her back to the brush, and painting is now her primary practice.

Working in the abstract expressionist tradition, she builds her surfaces from acrylic, resin, street inks, pigment powders, fabric and, most distinctively, plastic, and treats each painting as an open experiment. Her paintings move between celebration and loss, memory and renewal. As she puts it: "More than anything, I hope my artwork inspires hope, joy, and reflection in those who experience it."
