# Four-Handled Serenade

A white vessel, elaborate and slightly improbable, holds the center of this warm, richly colored painting. It has the quality of an object with a story, or several: something found on a journey, or inherited, or imagined. Corcelle's fascination with found objects and her love of the everyday made significant come together here in a composition that feels both festive and intimate.

The serenade in the title is apt: the painting performs a little, charms a little, and lingers after you have walked away. Four handles suggest abundance, generosity, the kind of object made to be shared. That spirit of generosity extends to the whole surface.
