# Friday Night Swing

The week releases its hold and something looser, warmer, more generous takes over. This painting moves the way the title promises, with rhythm and a certain buoyant ease, its patchwork of colors shifting like a crowd on a dance floor, each square its own small note in a larger composition.

Corcelle's love of found materials and her printmaking sensibility both show here, but it is the feeling that stays with you: the Friday-ness of it, the relief and the swing of it. Joy in painting is harder to achieve than sorrow, and this work makes it look effortless.
