# Golden Silence

A single golden disc hangs at the center of Golden Silence, warm and still as a low harvest moon. Its surface is thick and slightly crusted, stirred by faint circular currents and scattered with pale blue flecks along its upper rim. A soft orange glow spreads out around it, then fades into a ground of moss green and deep teal, brushed in fine horizontal strokes that give the field the texture of woven linen.

Colangelo poured the disc in one generous pool and let it settle on its own, so its edge is gently scalloped and a thin dark line traces the lower curve where the paint pulled back. A sprayed orange halo wraps around it and gives the form its glow. One of her COSMOS paintings, it has a hushed, meditative presence for such a small piece. It brings warmth to a dining nook beside an oak chair with a green seat, or a walnut console in a pale blue hallway.

### About The Artist Content

Mandie Colangelo is an abstract painter based in Monterey, California. Raised in Arizona, she painted from childhood and wrote music, then built a creative career that moved through fashion, design, jewelry, graphic design and photography. Each chapter sharpened her eye for color, form and material. A season of profound change brought her back to the brush, and painting is now her primary practice.

Working in the abstract expressionist tradition, she builds her surfaces from acrylic, resin, street inks, pigment powders, fabric and, most distinctively, plastic, and treats each painting as an open experiment. Her paintings move between celebration and loss, memory and renewal. As she puts it: "More than anything, I hope my artwork inspires hope, joy, and reflection in those who experience it."
