# GRWM

Up close, it is a face. Eyes, nose, a hand. The intimate fragments of someone looking straight back at you. Step away and the image locks into place, bold, cinematic, quietly commanding. Cedric tufted this horizontal self portrait with the instincts of someone trained to think in frames. What to reveal, what to hold in shadow, where the image needs air. A small white flower rests in the dark field like a quiet interruption. GRWM, "get ready with me," turns an everyday ritual into something strangely magnetic. The yarn gives the surface a warmth that draws you closer.

### About The Artist Content

Cedric Vu (b. 1996) is a French-Vietnamese contemporary visual artist born and raised in San Jose, California. From 2014 to 2023, he lived in Los Angeles, where he studied filmmaking, worked as a dancer, and held a range of production roles in film and television.

In 2024, Vu returned to his hometown to establish a physical art practice rooted in creative authorship and independence. Teaching himself to tuft yarn, he began creating textile works - often self-portraits - using his own image out of practicality as he developed his technique in the medium. Though textiles have become the foundation of his emerging body of work, Vu continues to expand his practice with the intention of working across multiple mediums.

Since establishing his studio practice, Vu has exhibited at the Triton Museum of Art in Santa Clara, where he also serves as an Art Preparator. His work will be featured in the forthcoming 2027 group exhibition Echoes of Being at the Bakersfield Museum of Art. Vu’s work has quickly captured the attention of collectors and admirers alike, including renowned stylist and image architect Law Roach, known for his collaborations with Zendaya, Céline Dion, and others.
