# Marrakesh I

Javiera da Fonseca Ilic paints the way memory feels, not what a place looked like, but what it left behind. Here, palms in copper and salmon rise into a sky caught between storm and gold, while the garden below spills forward in layers of deep green and dusty rose, alive with a restless, tender energy. There is a terracotta wall in the middle of it all that somehow holds everything together, quiet and warm against the wildness surrounding it.

Javiera da Fonseca Ilić (b. 1982, Santiago de Chile) is a visual artist currently based in Mexico.
