# Reverie

Broad diagonal bands of slate, teal and misty white sweep across Reverie, and in the upper corner a pale halo holds a small, bright yellow sun. Shapes drift through the space at their own pace: a long cobalt form along the top edge, a turquoise pour breaking into mint, a vivid green island bubbling with tiny cells, and a pool of gold melting into violet near the bottom. A thin stream of yellow runs alongside them, steady and calm, keeping the whole composition gently afloat.

Colangelo poured each shape freely and gave it time to spread and settle, so every edge keeps the soft, irregular line of liquid paint. "I love allowing the process itself to guide the final result," she says, and here that trust gives the painting its unhurried, daydreaming mood. Part of her BLOOM series, it pairs crisp sprayed bands with glossy, raised pools that reward a closer look. It feels at home above a cream sofa with teal and butter yellow cushions, or over a walnut credenza in a lavender room warmed by brass.

### About The Artist Content

Mandie Colangelo is an abstract painter based in Monterey, California. Raised in Arizona, she painted from childhood and wrote music, then built a creative career that moved through fashion, design, jewelry, graphic design and photography. Each chapter sharpened her eye for color, form and material. A season of profound change brought her back to the brush, and painting is now her primary practice.

Working in the abstract expressionist tradition, she builds her surfaces from acrylic, resin, street inks, pigment powders, fabric and, most distinctively, plastic, and treats each painting as an open experiment. Her paintings move between celebration and loss, memory and renewal. As she puts it: "More than anything, I hope my artwork inspires hope, joy, and reflection in those who experience it."
