# Silent Rhapsody

_Silent Rhapsody_ has a quieter, more restrained energy, but there’s still so much movement happening across the canvas. Beth works primarily in black, white, and soft gray, using sweeping charcoal lines, bold brushstrokes, drips, and delicate gestural marks that seem to move freely from one area to another. Small touches of red appear almost unexpectedly, adding just enough tension to the otherwise monochromatic composition.

What I especially like about this piece is the contrast between its strong, expressive marks and the large areas of open space.
