# Twilight Heart

Twilight Heart gathers its color into one central form that seems to hover between day and night. Its crown burns red and violet, where a ridged band of gold and cream lines runs across the top like the last light on a hillside. Below, the color cools into bright cornflower blue that breaks into long, falling drips, and a mossy green shadows its left flank. Behind it, a charcoal haze sweeps down from the upper left over a soft ivory ground, traced with faint white lines.

Colangelo let the pours merge and run, then combed through them while wet, so the raked lines and drips keep the memory of each movement. "I love allowing the process itself to guide the final result," she says, and the painting carries that trust. One of her TERRAIN works, it holds warmth and cool in the same breath. It looks striking above a pale oak bench in a white entry hall or a walnut dresser in a mauve bedroom, with navy cushions, oxblood ceramics and plum velvet close by.

### About The Artist Content

Mandie Colangelo is an abstract painter based in Monterey, California. Raised in Arizona, she painted from childhood and wrote music, then built a creative career that moved through fashion, design, jewelry, graphic design and photography. Each chapter sharpened her eye for color, form and material. A season of profound change brought her back to the brush, and painting is now her primary practice.

Working in the abstract expressionist tradition, she builds her surfaces from acrylic, resin, street inks, pigment powders, fabric and, most distinctively, plastic, and treats each painting as an open experiment. Her paintings move between celebration and loss, memory and renewal. As she puts it: "More than anything, I hope my artwork inspires hope, joy, and reflection in those who experience it."
