# VESSEL V

VESSEL V is a quietly engaging textile work that highlights Panda's thoughtful balance between geometry, color, and material. The composition builds through a gentle patchwork of blush and pale yellow tones, forming an abstracted vessel shape that feels both structured and tender. Panda's careful stitching and restrained palette create a calm visual rhythm, inviting close viewing and quiet reflection. Beautiful as a standalone piece, it becomes more impactful when presented alongside other Vessel series works, forming a cohesive installation with stronger architectural presence.

### About The Artist Content

Panda Landa (b. 1982) is a queer, non-binary visual artist and filmmaker who creates vibrant mixed-media textile works using reclaimed, hand-dyed materials. Raised in the deserts of Nevada and now based in Joshua Tree, Panda draws inspiration from the quiet, open landscapes that shaped them, letting the colors, textures, and moods of the desert guide their work.

Self-taught in visual art, Panda works through instinct and improvisation, allowing each piece to develop naturally. Sustainability is central to their practice: every fabric is sourced second-hand and transformed through careful hand-dyeing, giving each artwork its own unique history. Their ongoing series - PORTAL, ALTAR, ECLIPSE, VESSEL, and more - explores themes of queerness, identity, ancestral narrative, healing, and transformation.

With a background in filmmaking, including their 2022 film ‘In the Middle of Everywhere’, Panda brings a strong sense of atmosphere and storytelling to their visual work. Their pieces invite viewers into a world shaped by emotion, color, and the quiet power of reclaiming and reimagining what already exists.
