# Warm Embrace

Warm Embrace sets a soft, marbled form at a slant across the panel, its body a drift of pale sky blue, blush pink and touches of lime, veined with fine crimson lines. Its upper edge frays into short, dark strokes that reach toward a band of sprayed red, while the lower edge settles against a broad field of glowing red orange. Cream fills the remaining corners, and near the bottom a single raised line of red paint, thin as a thread, rests quietly on its own.

One of her TERRAIN paintings, it shows how Colangelo lets each layer lead to the next: she sprayed the warm grounds, poured the cooler colors over them and let the paint fold and ripple as it settled, so the surface looks almost woven up close. The palette is generous and warm, held together by that cool center. It makes a glowing focal point above a limestone mantel in a cream living room or a walnut sideboard in a soft lavender dining room, with blush ceramics, blue linen and white blooms nearby.

### About The Artist Content

Mandie Colangelo is an abstract painter based in Monterey, California. Raised in Arizona, she painted from childhood and wrote music, then built a creative career that moved through fashion, design, jewelry, graphic design and photography. Each chapter sharpened her eye for color, form and material. A season of profound change brought her back to the brush, and painting is now her primary practice.

Working in the abstract expressionist tradition, she builds her surfaces from acrylic, resin, street inks, pigment powders, fabric and, most distinctively, plastic, and treats each painting as an open experiment. Her paintings move between celebration and loss, memory and renewal. As she puts it: "More than anything, I hope my artwork inspires hope, joy, and reflection in those who experience it."
