# Warmth

Warmth gathers into a single glowing shape near the center of the panel, buttery gold at its heart and soft as light seen through closed eyes. Along its lower edge the color frays into fine, fringed strokes, while a wider halo of saffron spreads around it and slowly cools into olive and bronze toward the corners. The ground is grainy and faintly ridged, and small ripples beneath the surface hint at the thin layers built up underneath.

Colangelo sprayed and poured the color in delicate veils, letting the glow settle where it wanted before sealing it under a clear coat of resin. The resin lends a gentle sheen that shifts with every change of angle, so the gold seems to brighten and dim with the light in the room. From her COSMOS series, it has the quiet comfort of a lamp left on at dusk. Set it above a walnut sideboard with olive and mustard textiles, or over a pale oak dresser in a soft blue study, where a brass lamp echoes its glow.

### About The Artist Content

Mandie Colangelo is an abstract painter based in Monterey, California. Raised in Arizona, she painted from childhood and wrote music, then built a creative career that moved through fashion, design, jewelry, graphic design and photography. Each chapter sharpened her eye for color, form and material. A season of profound change brought her back to the brush, and painting is now her primary practice.

Working in the abstract expressionist tradition, she builds her surfaces from acrylic, resin, street inks, pigment powders, fabric and, most distinctively, plastic, and treats each painting as an open experiment. Her paintings move between celebration and loss, memory and renewal. As she puts it: "More than anything, I hope my artwork inspires hope, joy, and reflection in those who experience it."
