# Where My Heart Rests

Waves of seafoam and aqua roll across Where My Heart Rests on a gentle diagonal, folding over one another as they near an unseen shore. Thin ribbons of white trace their crests, and in the troughs small flecks of cobalt and lilac glint like light held in shallow water. The paint is thick and swept, full of ridges, soft pits and little pockets where the greens and blues swirl together, so the surface shifts with every change of light.

Colangelo moved the paint in long, flowing passes and let it mingle and settle at its own pace, keeping every ridge and surprise rather than smoothing them away. Part of her TERRAIN series, it carries the calm of an early morning by the water. Small and easy to place, it suits a bedside wall, a shelf or a reading nook. It feels natural above a whitewashed oak nightstand beside seafoam bedding, or over a soft aqua velvet armchair with a slim chrome side table.

### About The Artist Content

Mandie Colangelo is an abstract painter based in Monterey, California. Raised in Arizona, she painted from childhood and wrote music, then built a creative career that moved through fashion, design, jewelry, graphic design and photography. Each chapter sharpened her eye for color, form and material. A season of profound change brought her back to the brush, and painting is now her primary practice.

Working in the abstract expressionist tradition, she builds her surfaces from acrylic, resin, street inks, pigment powders, fabric and, most distinctively, plastic, and treats each painting as an open experiment. Her paintings move between celebration and loss, memory and renewal. As she puts it: "More than anything, I hope my artwork inspires hope, joy, and reflection in those who experience it."
