The Piece
Tamara G Gallery stands as one of the most established galleries in Carmel-by-the-Sea, representing four major Italian artists who have left timeless treasures on Earth. Collaborating with Tamara, the owner, and DeAnn, the Gallery Director, was a delightful and enjoyable experience.
They previously had an outdated website that wasn't responsive to mobile devices. Recognizing the prevalence of smartphone usage among online visitors today, they understood the importance of a new site that could deliver the exceptional experience found in their physical gallery to the digital realm—an enjoyable challenge that I always relish.
Every project commences with a crucial learning phase, which I consider the most important for achieving truly mind-blowing results. Every element is carefully crafted in collaboration with the client, with reasons behind each section. In my experience working in eCommerce for a few years, I've learned that design should not only be aesthetically pleasing but also function intelligently.
The design effectively represents the 4 artists, and the inclusion of 'Purple Road' art channel videos, along with a brief narrative about the gallery, creates a connection and captures the atmosphere and spirit of the physical space in the digital realm.
The blog section at the bottom for SEO also provides additional information about the artists, supplementing the highlights found on each item page. The principle of 'less is more' applies, but for those seeking more information, it is readily accessible. I've received feedback from Tamara and DeAnn that they have received numerous compliments on the website, which is music to my ears.
